Our Philosophy.
Part of our mission is to break the cycle that has long created tensions within families and societies when death is not handled correctly. We have partnered with several organizations dedicated to helping families after a loss move through the process of grief and mourning. It is our hope that we help families find new purpose and meaning and connect the steps needed to grow and move forward.
LifeSource is an inclusive company that is here to serve EVERYONE. We do not discriminate against anybody based on their nationality, race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation.
Braeden graduated from Ithaca College with a degree in Environmental Science. He turned his passion for public and environmental health into a decade-plus-long career building healthy soils through organics recycling. Braeden is a subject matter expert in all things compost and regenerative soil practices. His path into deathcare felt natural — he’s wanted to be composted since starting his career in 2012. When California legalized natural organic reduction, and after attending the first annual TerraCon, he knew this is what he was meant to do. Now leading the helm of LifeSource, he’s excited to offer Terramation and other sustainable deathcare services that are as healing for our families as they are our planet. A passionate educator, Braeden loves sharing knowledge and ensuring everyone who reaches out to LifeSource leaves with a better understanding of sustainable deathcare options — no matter who they choose to work with.
Outside of work, Braeden is a music and food nerd who loves tea and espresso and being surrounded by plants. He enjoys lazy Sundays with his partner and three cats, has fierce opinions about pizza, and believes picking a favorite outdoor space is as impossible as picking a favorite food.
Chase Mirassou is a licensed funeral director and embalmer in California. He has been a funeral service practitioner for 13 years, and has an array of experience, participating with different cultures when it comes to death care. He’s a mortuary science professor for 3 different schools, and is an advocate of equity within death care work. He’s an avid plant caretaker, big foodie, and enjoys quite a bit of hiking across the United States. Chase’s biggest objective for LifeSource is to cultivate the thanatological aspect back into funeral service as a cornerstone for society. In his experience, he has watched families time and time again, lost in the grieving process. He feels that mortuaries should be a guide and a stepping stone to the family’s journey as they process this milestone we all must face. It is his hope and goal that LifeSource Deathcare is more than just a mortuary, that they are a foundation a family can build on to help them through their loss.
